Call the Speaker
Yesterday morning we did not have the votes needed to win at the constitutional convention. Speaker DiMasi went to work, calling legislators into his office one by one. He got us the votes needed to win.Please call Speaker DiMasi right away and thank him for the work that he did to secure equal marriage rights in Massachusetts.
Without Speaker DiMasi wrangling votes we would not have won yesterday.
I just called his office to thank him. His aide said that he is receiving a flood of calls admonishing him for his vote to protect equal marriage.
Call Speaker DiMasi right now at 617-722-2500. Thank him for his vote and all the work he did to protect equal marriage rights.

I called and the lady who answered the phone sounded wary. I rather got the impression that she has been getting beat up on the telephone all morning by the bad guys.
I felt so bad that after telling her that I appreciated the Speakers efforts I went ahead and sent an email as well.
Chris, you have put a lot of work into this for us too. So you deserve our Thanks as well.
I called and the secretary sounded relieved at a nice phonecall. This makes all the difference in the world, not just for our standing, but for making her day more tolerable!

Its so great that we won, this is awesome -- I wonder if this issue has any effect on the real estate market?
Just called but got an answering machine. Anyway, left a strong message thanking him for doing the right thing.
I called, and the aide said "thanks, you made your day!"
You all are obviously what people mean when they refer to "...the Terrorists within." The nation is appalled by those in MA who pretend to act as representatives of the moral majority of citizens and the thousands who provided a valid petition initiative. Your Legilature is a farse, trasonists who purport to call themselves State Legislators, who directly and blatently act as anarchists opposing the citizen majority. You can't even follow the simplist of moral oblicgation or the law which dictates you provide an up or down vote on a Initiative Petition!? God help America! God help us all! This type of dictatorial action is what leads societies to Civil War. I hope your all very proud of yourselves! Especially your corrupt ringleader Sal. No doubt a gay special interest himself either practicing or bought off and owing favors to that special interest. Sal, since you claim to be a lawyer, do you not have enough smarts to figure out how gays and lesbians can pass monetary and real property through things called Tursuts, Wills and Civil Unions - I mean if you really cared about gays/lesbians so much rather that hate traditional America so bad? We view your type as very very dangerous to the Republic, one Nation, under God.
