Big Loss in Washington

The Washington state Supreme Court just ruled against same-sex marriage. In the court's decision they stated that gays and lesbians are not discriminated against because they are allowed to marry. The catch is that they are allowed to marry members of the opposite sex only.
Equal Rights Washington is organizing events throughout the state to protest the court's decision.
This is a sad day for civil rights. Once again, Massachusetts stands alone in the fight for marriage equality. This makes it even more important that we keep equal marriage legal here. Massachusetts stands as a beacon of hope for gays and lesbians throughout the nation.
I will have more on the decision and the aftermath later.

So much for protecting the sanctity of marriage. If I understand this correctly (and I may not, as it's so assinine as to astonish)... According to the Washington Supremes, any marriage (even one entered into as a sham and a blatant attempt to piggy-back on the privileges and rights of heterosexuals) is a-okay, provided it's between people of the opposite sex.

Maybe lesbian and gay couples should start teaming up to cross-wed, and then simply live apart... so they can reap the benefits.
